Abstract:
This article reports a case of treating mastitis with manual breast - milk drainage. The 28 - year - old female patient, in lactation, had left - breast distension, pain, and fever, diagnosed with acute mastitis (early - stage). Treated with manual breast - milk drainage, and assessed using a mastitis evaluation scale and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, the patient saw improved milk drainage, pain reduction, and better sleep quality. No adverse events occurred, and she was satisfied with the treatment. This case report shows that manual breast - milk drainage is effective for mastitis and can inform clinical nursing.
