Abstract：
ABSTRACT: Objective To investigate the effect of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) five-element cupping therapy on postoperative wound pain of patients undergoing Milligan-Morgan surgery for mixed hemorrhoids of damp-heat type. Methods? Totally 60 patients undergoing Milligan-Morgan surgery for mixed hemorrhoids of damp-heat type were randomly divided into the observation group and control group, with 30 cases in each group. Anti-infection, hemostasis andother symptomatic treatment were carried out after surgery. The control group received routine wound cleansing and dressing change, and the observation group received TCM five-element cupping therapy on the basis of routine care. The Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) was used to assess the wound pain degree at 24 h、48 h、72 h after treatment. Results? The VAS score in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group at 24 h、48 h and 72h after treatment, respectively (P＜0.01). Conclusion The TCM five-element cupping therapy is effective to relieve the postoperative pain of patients with mixed hemorrhoids. It is an easy-to-operate and safe technique of TCM nursing, which is worthy of promoting in pain control after surgical treatment for anorectal diseases.
