<p>Application of early nursing intervention integrating Chinese and Western medicine in patients with constipation admitted to neurosurgery department</p>

Abstract: Objective: To explore the application of early nursing intervention combining traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine in patients with constipation admitted to the neurosurgery department. Methods: A total of 160 patients with constipation admitted to neurosurgery department at Jingshi People’s Hospital from January 2025 to July 2025 were selected as the research subjects, and 80 patients were assigned to the control group and 80 patients to the intervention group. The control group received routine nursing measures for patients with craniocerebral injuries in neurosurgery department, while the intervention group received targeted nursing intervention combining traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine for patients with craniocerebal injuries and constipation. The incidence of constipation, quality of life scores before and after nursing, and nursing satisfaction were analyzed in both groups. Results: The incidence of constipation in the intervention group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P < 0.05). The quality of life scores in both groups improved compared with those before nursing, and the scores in the intervention group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P <0.05). The nursing satisfaction in the intervention group was significantly higher than that in the control group (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The nursing intervention combining traditional Chinese medicine and modern medicine can effectively reduce the incidence of constipation in patients with craniocerebral injury admitted to the neurosurgery department, improve their quality of life, and enhance their satisfaction with nursing care.
